Legacy Southeast LLC Developer Story

For Steve Anthony Sr., it all started as early as 1968, building homes in York County, South Carolina with his father. It was the beginning for Steve in selling residential homes and soon this background of both building and selling real estate brought his family to Hilton Head Island in 1979. From those early days on the island Steve has been a "visionary" in developing, constructing, managing, marketing and selling a wide variety of resort, primary, golf, equestrian, and lake-oriented community real estate. His efforts include major entities and developments such as: Palmetto Dunes Resort, Leamington Golf & Beach Community, Palmetto Hall Plantation, Coosaw Creek Country Club, Hammock Dunes Resort, Crosswinds on Hilton Head, Rose Dhu Creek Plantation, and now Shell Hall.

Legacy Group, LLC and Legacy Construction, LLC were formed in 1996, for the purpose of developing communities and building both residential homes and commercial projects.

In 1997, Steve Anthony Jr., joined his father in the development/construction business bringing vast experience in accounting and financial oversight and management expertise to the team. Steve is an engineering graduate from Georgia Institute of Technology and received his MBA from The University of South Carolina. The combination of both "a visionary" and "fiscal discipline" has made this next generation family/son team successful. Since 1996, they have developed the communities of Crosswinds, Rose Dhu Creek, and now Shell Hall along with the commercial projects Legacy Commons and Legacy Medical Center. In addition to the residential communities they also have built all the amenities, clubhouses, and commercial projects within these communities.

In 2000, Jim Buck joined the organization, as President of Legacy Construction. His addition to the team brought another 30+years of both residential and commercial construction to the firm, allowing them to expand the residential construction group.

Jim is a graduate of Clemson University School of Architecture and has served as construction engineer for Exxon, prior to his building career on Hilton Head Island. Active in the local building community Jim has served as president of the local Home Builders Association for 4 years and for many years has served as a Board of Director. He was awarded Hilton Head Homebuilders', Builder of the Year.
